Symptoms of diabetes in women you need to know

Diabetes is a category of metabolic illnesses that cause excessive blood sugar due to insulin issues. Diabetes affects all ages, races, and sexes. Anyone can be affected by it, regardless of their lifestyle.

According to a study published in Annals of Internal Medicine, the death rate for males with diabetes decreased between 1971 and 2000. This reduction is due to advancements in diabetes therapy.

However, the study found that the fatality rate for diabetic women did not change. Furthermore, the mortality rate disparity between diabetic and non-diabetic women has more than doubled.

Although women had a greater death rate, there has been a shift in the sex distribution of type 2 diabetes, with males having higher rates.

The findings highlight the differences in how diabetes affects men and women. Reasons for this include:

Women are generally treated less aggressively for cardiovascular risk factors and diabetes-related disorders.
Some of the diabetes-related problems that affect women are more challenging to diagnose.
Women are more likely to suffer from heart disease than males, and they tend to develop it in a variety of ways.
Hormones and inflammation have varied effects on males and women.

What are the early indications and symptoms of diabetes in women?

Many of the symptoms and consequences associated with type 1 and type 2 diabetes in women are similar to those seen in men, but there are a few that are exclusive to females.

Both vaginal and oral yeast infections can cause itching and pain in the genital area. Overgrowth of Candida albicans fungus can lead to yeast infections in the genital area as well as the mouth (oral thrush). Some symptoms of vaginal yeast infections are as follows:

  • 1.Itching and soreness in the vaginal area
  • 2.Vaginal discharge is a type of vaginal discharge that occurs when a woman
  • 3. Disgusting sexual encounters.

Oral thrush symptoms include:

  • 1.In the mouth, there are white patches.
  • 2.Irritation and redness
  • 3.Difficulty swallowing or eating
  • 4.Inner cheeks or gums that are swollen and red.
  • 5. Lower libido: Women with diabetes may have lower libido, as well as blood flow difficulties in the genital area, which can reduce sexual response and orgasm, and nerve damage (diabetic neuropathy), which can cause vaginal dryness and diminished feeling.
  • 6. PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) is a major cause of infertility and insulin resistance in women. It can cause irregular periods, acne, thinning scalp hair, and excessive hair growth on the face and body, among other indications and symptoms. High insulin levels also increase the risk of diabetes, which affects roughly half of all women with PCOS.
  • 7. Urinary tract infections (UTIs): A UTI develops when bacteria enter the urinary tract through any of the openings in the urethra, ureters, kidneys, or bladder. They are far more common in women than in males in general, and they are far more common in diabetics because the sugar in the urine provides a breeding environment for bacteria.
